What’s your favourite thing about Australia?\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/h1>\n

A lot of my readers ask me how it is to live in the country upside down. I find that question very hard to answer since I have been here for almost 6 years. However I will try to answer it as good as I can.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

\n

When I fist came here I was actually surprised. Australia wasn’t at all the way I expected it to be. It was much better. Everyone talks about the dangerous animals down here, but let’s be real people, they won’t attack you. You don’t see them everywhere and you are lucky if you see a snake when you are visiting. If you go camping in the forest, thats a different story. But if you look at the statistics not many people die from dangerous animals down here. You just have to use your common sense.<\/p>\n

When it comes to work and living<\/strong> it’s a bit different from what I’m used to. The living standard is not as high and the quality of houses is not even close to the standard in Sweden. (Of course this depends on where you live). If you live in the city the development will probably be a bit better. Working is ok, but they don’t treat you as good here as they do in Sweden, You have more rights in Sweden then down here. I find that the working environment is not as focused on social aspects as it is in Sweden. It’s all about the money down here and you are only a number. Of course I haven’t worked for every company down here, but If i compare my jobs that I had back home to here it’s a big difference in the way the company treats you.<\/p>\n

\n

Fashion<\/strong> is a little bit behind if you don’t live in a bigger city, but even there I find it a little bit behind compared to fashion in Europe. Of course there is a reason for this and I believe it’s because Australia is so far away. The lifestyle<\/strong> is way more relaxed, even in the bigger cities, this can be a good thing, but also a curse. I find it very hard to live such a relaxed lifestyle and I have to admit that sometimes it drives me crazy.<\/p>\n

But saying all this there is so many greta things about Australia. The pay<\/strong> is a bit higher than average, the health care<\/strong> is amazing and they really look after you when you need help and then we have the weather<\/strong>. I live on the Sunshine Coast and I have to say that the weather is the main reason that I’m still here. The beaches and the water is so beautiful and I can’t even describe it. (See picture). The people are very polite and a lot of them have lots of respect for different cultures however just like everywhere else there is clowns that doesn’t know better.<\/p>\n

To put it all into content, to live in Australia is just as good as any developed country even if there are things that is far behind in development. I love it and I’m grateful<\/strong> that I have got the opportunity to live in this amazing country together with my amazing man. I hope for many more years down here and I hope that if you ever think about visiting Australia, stop thinking and just do it.<\/strong> You will regret it if you don’t.
