Our goal was to drive for about 3-4 hours and then find a nice place to put our tent up. I really wanted to take G to Gr\u00e4nna.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1310 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/dreamsbylinda.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_9089-e1534877318641-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/dreamsbylinda.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_9089-e1534877318641-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/dreamsbylinda.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_9089-e1534877318641-416x554.jpg 416w, https:\/\/dreamsbylinda.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_9089-e1534877318641.jpg 480w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Gr\u00e4nna\">Gr\u00e4nna\u00a0<\/a>is known for it&#8217;s red and white <a title=\"Polkagris\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Polkagris\">polkagris<\/a> (literally &#8220;polka pig&#8221; in Swedish) <a title=\"Stick candy\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Stick_candy\">stick candy<\/a>, also known as <a title=\"Rock (confectionery)\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Rock_(confectionery)\">peppermint rock<\/a>. This was first made by the widow <a title=\"Amalia Eriksson\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Amalia_Eriksson\">Amalia Eriksson<\/a> in 1859.<sup id=\"cite_ref-2\" class=\"reference\"><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Gr%C3%A4nna#cite_note-2\">[2]<\/a><\/sup> A statue of Amalia can now be seen in the park at the foot of Gr\u00e4nna mountain. The town is popular with tourists and is a connection point for the ferry service to the island <a title=\"Visings\u00f6\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Visings%C3%B6\">Visings\u00f6<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1309 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/dreamsbylinda.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_9086-e1534877013315-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/dreamsbylinda.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_9086-e1534877013315-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/dreamsbylinda.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_9086-e1534877013315-416x554.jpg 416w, https:\/\/dreamsbylinda.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_9086-e1534877013315.jpg 480w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/>When you visit\u00a0Gr\u00e4nna you can be lucky to experience the making of the polkagris. They have a room with windows where you can stand and watch the whole process.
