Is it just me, or is this year just flying by? One of the hardest things I struggle with, is time. It feels like life just fly by so fast and when I blink it will be a new year again. Imagine if we could travel back in time and relive the moment. What if we could go back in time when we are feeling sad and lonely and we could see our loved one, just for a moment.

But today I wanted to talk about how to prepare for studying abroad.

There is so many amazing things you get to explore when you decide to live and study abroad.

First of all you have to decide what destination you want to go to. Then you have to figure out what you want to study and if it is available on your destination. When you start planing it gets very exciting. But remember that there is a lot of practical things that you have to sort out as well, such as visa, bankcard and proxy.

The first time I left traveling I learned that it’s always good to have an extra credit card, just in case someone decides to steal your other one and steal your money. So I highly recommend to have two accounts and two cards.

When it comes to a visa it all depends on where you are going and where you are from. Always check the visa requirement and don’t take any chances of going to a country without a visa if needed. The last thing you want to do is to get on the bad side with the government.

Proxy was something I didn’t have when I left the first time, I quickly learned that this ended up being complicated. It’s hard if you get bills that needs to be payed, or you have to sign on your tax or even when you need a new licence. When you are far away the last thing you want to do is to sort out all those papers by sending them back and forward. It’s much easier if you have someone that can sign them for you and sort out bigger problems for you. Of course there is things that they are not allowed to sign or do, but everything is easier with someone elses help. (I have my dad helping me out with all those things).

Then there is the question, where are you gonna live. Trust me when I say that it is not as hard as you think to find a place, most countries have a system in place for your first semester and people are always very friendly to everyone that needs help. When you decide to study abroad there will be people you can call and people that will be there to help you when you have any questions.

Moving to Australia and study abroad was the best decision in my life. I have never looked back and I wouldn’t change if for anything. Of course there has been days when I have asked myself why I do this because it is so hard. But it has always worked out and I don’t regret my decision.

If you are thinking about studying abroad, just do it.
