1. You will feel lonely
   There is no way to avoid this, you will feel lonely from time to time, however it will pass and you will wake up loving and appreciate your life again (christmas and birthdays are one of the most common days for you to feel very emotional)
2. You have to choose wisely 
   Let’s be realistic, even if you make a lot of money you can’t go home for every event. You will therefor miss out on weddings,birthdays, birth of you sibling kids and you friends. You have to really decide what event you don’t want to miss out on and then plan your life after that.
3. Holidays often means a trip home
   Don’t get me wrong, going home might be a holiday and you might love it, but what about all the other countries you want to visit. This is where it gets tricky, do you spend your holiday and your money going home, or do you make the decision to go somewhere else and maybe upset parts of your family backhoe because you decided to go and do something else instead of visiting them.
4. We forget
   It’s easy to get caught up in the normal life that you will get no matter where you live. You will stop appreciating having the beach next to you and you will forget what it was like to live back home. You forget why you left in the first place.
5. Life goes on
   I myself struggle a lot with this one, it’s hard to understand that no matter where you decide to live or be the life that you used to have will go on. If you go back home the life you used to have abroad will continue just like yours. It’s a weird feeling when something will continue just like normal with or without you.
6. The excitement
   There is always a lot of excitement when you decide to move abroad and you don’t really know what to expect. Just like everything else in the world this is an amazing feeling that will last for about 6 month – 1 year. After that the excitement will fade and you want to move on to something else….SOUNDS FAMILIAR. =) (This is my biggest obstacle, I want to move around every 6 months, and If i don’t I can get bored and unhappy).
7. Our parents will grow old
   This is another one close to my heart, I think a lot about my parents and all the time I’m loosing out on with them. I think abut the future and when they are gone, will I regret not being there and spending more time with them. I’m lucky to have the most amazing parents that always say that I have to live my life and be happy, I can’t live my life after them. (Mum and Dad, I love you guys)
8. Making friends is hard
   Your friend back home will always be your friends. When you live abroad you have to make new once, it can be very tricky to find “real friends” this is because they already have their group of friends and you might find it hard to fit in. (This is something that I have experienced a lot). 
9. You learn to appreciate your own company
   Back home you always had someone to catch up with, mum, dad, siblings and friends. But when you live abroad you have to learn how to have dinner on your own, go to the beach on your own or do a lot of things on your own. You have to accept that your social net won’t be the same as back home. 
10. The pain when you have to say goodbye to your family (again)
    This is a BIG one, it never gets easier, only harder. As your siblings have kids of their own and you have to say goodbye yet again. When you first get to see them after a long time there is an amazing feeling swiping over you. The rest of the time is spending trying to not think about when you have o say goodbye again. As for the goodbye itself, I can’t even describe it = Lots of tears…
    
    

But please don’t let this stop you to live your dream because there is so much joy when you decide to live abroad.
