How to arrive NOT feeling Jet lagged

Jet lagged = desynchronosis and flight fatigue

I wish I could always afford traveling Business class

The first time I went traveling to Thailand I was very jet lagged when I arrived. However after traveling for a while I figured out how I can prevent myself from feeling jet lag.

The following suggestion works for me, there is no guarantee that they will work for you (Remember that everyone is different).

1. Eat a nice meal before you board the plane – Eating is always very important and especially when you know that you have to sit on an airplane for a long time. We all know that the food served on the airplanes are not always the best and therefor I recommend that you eat something you love before boarding the plane.

2. Don’t sit down to much before boarding the plane I know how exhausting it can be to travel and that it makes you very tired, but if you know that you are gonna sit down for many hours – Why would you decide to sit down while you’re waiting for your plane? I always make sure to walk around on the airport a lot and to stretch my muscles before I board the plane.

3. Eat or drink something sweet (depending on what time your plane is taking off)It might sound weird, but this always works for me. Sugar makes me alert and wakes me up. As mentioned this is not good to do if your flight is an overnight plane and the first thing you want to do is sleep.

4. Have a good night sleep the night before Try to get to bed early the night before, and try to get a good night sleep. I know this can be hard because of all the excitement, but trust me it’s worth it. If you have trouble sleeping I recommend drinking a camomile tea before bedtime.

5. Bring a new set of clothes in your carry on luggageI always feel that changing clothes, brushing your teeth and brushing your hair always makes you feel more fresh. I always try to do this 45 min before landing, this makes me feel fresh and ready to go.

6. Don’t go to sleep as soon as you arrive Trust me I know how hard it can be to stay awake when you arrive, especially if it’s early in the morning and you have to stay awake the whole day. However I have figured out that if I go to sleep during the day I can’t sleep very good at night. Try to get your body clock in time with the new timezone as soon as possible.

7. When you arrive, go for a walk or a run This has worked very well for me when I have travelled far. I normally try to go for a walk as soon as I arrive at my hotel. This helps the blood flow and I feel much better after that.

This is all I could think of that I do to prevent feeling Jet lag. How do you prevent feeling jet lag?
XOXO
